CONCRETE STRUCTURE COMPLETE, FINISH TRADES BEGIN WORK

The Colasanti Construction team recently wrapped up concrete pours on the seventh floor and roof, completing the main concrete structure for the new Baker College Royal Oak campus. A temporary roof system and windows will seal the building from outside elements and allow work on the building interior to continue through the winter and spring. Interior work is expected to begin in the next several weeks to finalize duct work, plumbing and electrical lines, and prepare the building for drywall installation in January.

Finish work on the exterior of the building has already begun with exterior stud work up to the fifth floor, and masonry and siding beginning this month. The building’s exterior is expected to be completed in early 2022.

DTE continues to run conduit below street level and remove temporary power lines from above the new structure and nearby airspace. Once DTE’s work is complete, the Colasanti team will disassemble the tower crane onsite. This work is anticipated early next year.
