FOUR WAYS TO ENJOY SUMMER IN THE METRO-DETROIT SUBURB

We chose Royal Oak to be the home of our newest campus for many reasons, including everything the suburb offers during the warmer months. Even if you’re not enrolled in summer classes, there are several motivators to make your way downtown this year.

Royal Oak Farmers Market

Located at 316 East 11 Mile Rd, the Farmers Market is just a short three-minute drive from our Royal Oak campus. Every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can enjoy a selection of vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, baked goods and more. Every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can shop antique finds from more than 40 vendors. Whether you’re in need of power food for a busy school week or seeking décor for your home space, this market has it all.

Royal Oak Leprechauns

If you need a break from studying, assignments and work, take yourself and your pals out to the ball game! Less than four miles from campus, you can watch Royal Oak’s collegiate baseball team hit home runs all summer long. Visit the team’s website for 2022 season details.

Woodward Dream Cruise

On August 19 and 20, 2022 head to Woodward Avenue to experience North America’s largest celebration of automotive culture. This event attracts nearly one million visitors every year and is the perfect place to bring your car-lover friends to see thousands of classic vehicles.

Arts Beats & Eats

Scheduled for Sept. 2-5, this is an end-of-summer celebration of art, music, food and community in the heart of downtown Royal Oak. This year’s event will feature 200 musical acts, an art show with pieces from around the country, and good eats from cultural dishes to classic American cuisine to delectable desserts. In addition to these summer festivities, Royal Oak is full of unique eateries, shops and outdoor parks – perfect for study sessions, a break from class or to catch up with friends. The city is overflowing with experiences, and we’re excited our newest campus is just down the road from them all.
