Over the last several months our project partners at Colasanti Construction Services Inc. have been excavating our Royal Oak campus making way for our first floor, which will house underground parking for staff and employees. Installation of support beams, decking and the concrete ramp from the first to second level are now completed. Concrete installation for the second floor began the week of June 14.
Concrete for each floor will be poured in two phases. During this time only one lane of Lafayette between 4th and 5th Streets will remain open for both north and south bound traffic. Traffic flow will alternate between the north and south bound lanes.
We anticipate the second concrete pour for the second floor to take place – approximately Thursday, June 24, weather permitting. Our construction team anticipates similar Lafayette lane closures between 4th and 5th Streets to continue intermittently through mid to late October until all seven floors of concrete are poured.
Once the third-floor concrete is poured, masonry, electrical and other carpentry trades will begin on the ground floor.
